Allison Kirk, MA, LMT is a Master Massage Therapist and founder of the Body Temple, a massage and body therapy practice located inside Barrier Islands Psychiatry in West Ashley. Allison’s journey into energetic and spiritual healing began with her own sudden awakening experience which completely dismantled her life. At the age of 40, she found herself a single mother without any family or support, as her spiritual sensitivities and intuitive gifts were all coming online. Her experience was exhilarating and empowering, as well as deeply terrifying, as she awakened to the realization that the life she had been placed in was not the life she was meant to live.

Paramount to her full awakening was the process of embodying her lost femininity, which included the ancient Divine Feminine traditions that view the body as a sacred temple for the soul. Through struggling to relieve herself of her own culturally and religiously conditioned self-loathing, and healing her own inner critic, she is passionate about helping everyone she connects with restore a sacred and unconditionally loving relationship with themselves and their bodies. This passionate unconditional love has been the fundamental foundation of her unique brand of healing facilitation.

Allison particularly loves to work with highly sensitive people (including empaths); those who are looking to reclaim their sovereignty, empowerment, and independence after sexual and other trauma; and people who are moving through life transitions like death, divorce, parenthood, and career changes. She has found that when we align with ourselves in unconditional self-love and acceptance, seemingly miraculous leaps in our health, our consciousness, our relationships, and our lives can occur. Her intention is to share the gift of genuine self-care and appreciation with others so that they too can realize the limitless, transformative power of unconditional love as it works through their lives to heal our world.

Allison adores studying myths and archetypes, writing, meditation, yoga, ecstatic and other sacred dance, hiking, SUP and kayaking, and generally anything that involves connecting with mother earth. She lives in Mt. Pleasant with her teenage son and daughter, and cannot function without sunshine, electronic music, or dark chocolate.
